Pre Rodeo Events

Mutton Busting

This pre-rodeo event is a crowd favorite! Sheep are loaded in the mini bucking chutes just like the bucking horses and bulls. The “Little Buckaroos” are loaded on their sheep and when they’re ready to ride, the chute is opened and away they go! The children will be timed on how long they are able to stay on their sheep. The rider with the longest time will be awarded a buckle.  Second runner up will also be awarded a gift certificate.

We would like to thank our new Sponsors Mick and Andrea Tully with the Clayton Tully Memorial Foundation. These new mutton busting chutes are dedicated to Clay, a Meridian Lions Rodeo Mutton Busting champ!
